The joy of Aurestal has finally accumulated into one of the most exciting days of the year. You can now open your gifts which have been hiding under your Holiday Tree. If you prefer to spread the mystery beyond this day -- you can open them at any time during 2021 until Aurestal comes back next December 1st.



Another pleasant surprise is the update to the Merry Aurestal Avatar (formerly Christmas Galore). It now shows off the updated Aurestal pet updates as well as a change in text. If you have already unlocked this beauty, today is the perfect day to show it off.

A flurry of white scatters the sky, mingling with the red and green aurora lights. The time has finally come -- Peace, the final of the three Auroras, has awakened and joined their beloved Generosity and Prosperity in the night sky!

Peace is a kind-hearted and patient being of light who can solve even the most heated conflicts. Just being in their presence is enough to fill one with a sense of joy and peacefulness. To those who participated in this week's awakening, Peace is immensely grateful!



Now that the Auroras have awoken and united, Aurestal can finally begin. The three magical beings -- Generosity, Prosperity, and Peace -- reside together in the skies of the wintery December nights, illuminating the land with their colorful lights and bringing gifts and showing kindness to Terrafrostians young and old. As the winter season goes on, you may also encounter Snow Sprites, which are adorable and sentient puffs of snow that assist the Auroras.

In addition, the tasks users fulfilled during the awakenings can finally pay off, as the new Aurestal Store opens its doors! Get your hands on some fun Aurestal-themed items while you still can, because it will be closing back up on December 31st, 23:59:59 IcePets Time. The new openable for 2020 Items will be added on December 25th, while the new Forgotten Aurestal Box can be purchased now and includes Items from Aurestal 2010.




And if you don't manage spend all of your points, don't worry -- as surely as the Auroras will awaken again, the store will now re-open every year for the entire month of December! Nothing goes to waste, either; Aurestal Points not spent by the end of the month will simply be stored away to be used in future years.

An additional note for any intrepid collectors -- the Aurestal Store has a unique feature where it has some permanent stock, alongside some rotating stock. The permanent stock will include the Aurestal Snow Jar and all yearly Aurestal Calendar openables, with each coming year's openable being added to the permanent stock once said calendar is finished. The rotating stock, on the other hand, will change every year. No Item made available through the rotating stock will be limited to this one location, but they will generally include some more thematic or interesting items!

Now's a better time than ever to update your Plushie collections, because we have five new adorable additions just waiting to be cuddled! Starting today, you can get your very own Black Dovu, Brown Traptur, Brown Zabeu, Cottoncandy Zabeu, and Snowdrift Zabeu Plushies. You can find the Black Dovu and Brown Traptur Plushies at restocking at the Plushie Palace. However, the new Zabeu Plushes, along with all the other Basic Zabeu Plushes, have been moved from the Plot Store and found a new home over at the Quest Store where they will all be available for 150 Quest Points each. The Book Quest will also be rewarding the Black Dovu and Brown Traptur Plushies now, while Samuel over at the Plushie Quest will be looking for them in one week's time.





And that's not all! The basic colors of the Dovu, Zabeu, and Traptur Plushie series have all been given a fresh new design. Your Plushie collection will be looking sharper than ever!

It's Lahja's favourite time of the year! The Rainbow Krittle has been busy all month and is happy to announce that the annual Gift Exchange is open once more!

"It's been so busy here sending gifts to everyone's loved ones, you can certainly feel Generosity in the air this Aurestal season!" Lahja says happily, rolls of colourful wrapping paper tight in their arms, "I certainly hope you are able to get everything your heart desires this year. Thank you to all the wonderful Terrafrostians who make this possible year after year! It's been a fantastic addition to the festivities."



A reminder every User can select two items to wish for at the Gift Exchange. Users who choose to make or grant a wish will do so anonymously. If a wish has not been granted within three days you are free to ask for a different Item instead. Lahja will also be handing out trophies to any Terrafrostians who are able to grant wishes. It's important to know that participation is completely voluntary. The Gift Exchange will be closed on December 31, 23:59:59 IcePets Time so be sure to get your wishes in early!



Additionally, all Pet Collection pages have been updated so that they will work similarly to User Collection pages! You can now view all of your Pets' currently collected Items of each category alongside the Items that they are still missing. Hopefully this will help with any Pets who are seeking to complete their collections, or those who are searching for the perfect gift for a friend!

As you gaze up at the night sky, you just might see a blaze of green light illuminating the darkness. This can only mean one thing -- the first of the three Auroras has awakened!



Generosity is a being of light who resides in the sky with the other two Auroras. However, when Terrafrostians are in need, she presents herself as a strong, yet gentle creature with many hands that she uses to reach out. When you see those beautiful green lights in the winter sky, you can be certain that Generosity is near.

December is here and that can mean only one thing - Aurestal is almost here! Today Aurestal is celebrated as a wonderful time of year when good-will and hospitality grips the world of Terrafrost. However, this isn't how December used to be thought of by Terrafrostians -- especially those in villages covered in snow and rough terrain this time of year. The harsh weather was dark, cold, and a bitter place to be, making it a lonely, desperate time. Legend goes that the accumulation of these emotions welled up as more IcePets were born and communities grew, until there was enough to reverberate up the tallest peaks of Snowslide and wake the Aurora.



Encased in ice on that highest peak was a family of three magical creatures, said to have formed from the very first ice crystals on Terrafrost. These three partners slept peacefully among the ice for aeons, until the sadness from below finally cracked through and reached them. Generosity woke first, a blaze of green, heart going out to the many IcePets in need. Prosperity woke second, red, sensing the frail young and old. The white light of Peace woke last, longing to comfort the distress below.



Everywhere the Aurora went, the three partners spread their warmth and joy. So much good-will and hospitality was fostered, that it became tradition for all IcePets to give gifts, share food and shelter. In celebration of the season, they hung artificial lights on trees and bushes, so the brightness and happiness could be enjoyed the whole month. Gradually, the month-long festivities of Aurestal took form. Green symbolised generosity, red for prosperity, and white represented peace. As IcePet populations grew around the globe, the Aurora found it difficult to reach everyone in time; they needed help. They used their magic to bring more ice crystals to life -- though it had been aeons since their own creation, they were able to muster enough power to give life to thousands of tiny snowsprites. The snowsprites were small, but they had enough magic to carry the gifts of peace, prosperity, and generosity. The Aurora would carry the sprites with them, flying overhead in a streak of light, and let them float down with the snow. Thus a snowy Aurestal became a sign of good luck, and to this day young IcePets get excited about the snowsprites floating down with presents.

Christmas will now be referred to as Aurestal. The lore of Aurestal will change previous Christmas stories, which will be announced as adjustments are made.
