IST Hello everyone! Sign-ups are starting, here is what you need to know before signing up! If you sign up and do not participate or you quit, you will be banned from entering the next contest. Once all 28 slots have been filled, we will use a Random Number Generator to decide who is on which team. Team Blue Audril will be pulled first, then Team Green Trido, Team Red Dovu, and finally Team Yellow Sharshel. The numbers 1-28 will be assigned to each username on the list in the order they signed up. The Random Number Generator will have a minimum number of 1, and a maximum number of 28. A random number will be generated, and depending on what Team we are pulling for, the corresponding numbered user will be assigned to it. Once assigned to a team you will be free to chat to devise a plan. Please note that we cannot moderate offsite chat rooms. You are free to use other messenger services, but do so at your own risk.You will be given 24 hours to collaborate, get organized, and chose a team captain before the contest begins. Please message Speedie with your team captain so we know which account to put the starting Pet on. If you do not message Speedie within the 24 hours given, a team captain will be chosen for you. Another news post will be made announcing the teams, then a fourth news post will be made when the contest starts and the Pets are handed out. You will have an entire week to work on your starting Pet! Once the week is up, the starting Pets will be collected so they can no longer be worked on. Just a quick copy/paste from the useful information posted in yesterday's news!Each team will elect a captain who will be in charge of the Pet.
The Pets will be distributed once the contest starts.
The captain does not need an extra Pet slot to house the Pet.
Team members will send all of the books they wish to be used on the Pet to the team captain.
Books will not be returned once they have been used on the Pet.
Please remember to click to the last page of the book for it to count as 'read'.
Participation is important! If your team members do not feel you have pulled your weight throughout the contest, your prizes will be forfeited! You may make an appeal to the staff if you feel you were unfairly treated.
Staff have the final say in the matter.
Books may be obtained from anywhere at any time.    PrizesIf your team comes in fourth place, you will receive:    Ice Cube and Stamp of your choice added to your Collection and an Item worth 100 Quest Points or less from the Quest ShopIf your team comes in third place, you will receive:  Ice Cube, Stamp, Gourmet Food of your choice added to your Collection and an Item worth 200 or less Quest Points from the Quest ShopIf your team comes in second place, you will receive:  A Morphing Potion of your choice, Ice Cube, Stamp, Gourmet Food of your choice added to your Collection and an Item worth 300 or less Quest Points from the Quest ShopIf your team manages to come in First place, you will receive:   A Morphing Potion or Snow Jar of your choice Ice Cube, Stamp, Gourmet Food of your choice, an Item worth 400 Quest Points or less from the Quest Shop and  An Advent Calender Key of your choice A super special, super secret prize will be award to any teams that make it in the top 5 of the Leaderboards! IST  Yay we love seeing this banner!! Hope you guys do too! 8D We've learned from the last contest! This one is going to be limited to seven users per team! That's 28 spots to fill up! We are giving you exactly 24 hours to prepare. At 2:00 pm IST tomorrow the 27th, news will be posted and sign-ups will begin. Here's a preview of how the contest will work. Each team will be given a starting Pet. Your job is to read as many books to your Pet as possible! They don't have to be different, we're not going for unique. It's possible to win by reading hundreds of the same book to your Pet. ((Though it might get bored. ;P)) You will have one week to read as many books as you can to your team's Pet. At the end of that week, the team with the most books read to their Pet will be declared the winners and prizes will be awarded. Like the previous contest, the Pets will be collected and auctioned off. Basic RulesEach team will elect a captain who will be in charge of the Pet. IST Hello everyone! This is a news post to inform you of the goings on 'behind the scenes' at IcePets. We've been talking about the recode for quite some time now, and we know it's going to take a lot of time and a lot of money. The recode needs to be done for a few reasons. When @ Programmer codes new features, they take longer and are therefore more expensive because he has to incorporate them into existing outdated code. Once the site is reprogrammed, things will take less time to program and will be less expensive. When @ Programmer did the server switch, a few things broke, due to the code being old and outdated. This pushed us to move forward with the recode. However, we love you guys, and don't want you to be bored while the site is being reprogrammed. So we decided, to start work on the battle arena first. We will begin talking about what we're gonna do and will post news when we need your input. There have been discussions about having a fundraiser for the battle arena, and we think this is something we're going to do, though most of the funds for the arena will come from other sources. More information on a fundraiser will be posted much later in the process. We're taking a big leap here, and we hope you'll stick with us throughout the process. Trust us, it'll be worth it.

IST      The Dabu has been given a revamp thanks to the lovely, fantastic, @ Vermillion!! If you can't see the updated images, press CTRL + F5 before you continue down the news post!Along with the actual Pet being revamped, the wonderful @ Read has redone the default Dabu Avatar, the Cottoncandy Dabu Ice Cube, and the Token Dabu Stamp!    We didn't think the Dabu Morphing Potions needed revamped, so we left them alone. ^_^      Thanks so much @ Vermillion and @ Read, the new images look fantastic! We're interested to see how many users change all their Pets to Dabus to show their support of the revamp. ;D

IST I am delighted to announce that after the success of the Roleplaying Competition it has been decided that we will be holding creative competitions more often. This month we will be hosting a writing competition for all you creative writers!  The competition will run from today, November 3rd, and will close at 11:59:59pm IST on November 10th. But what does it involve I hear you ask? It's simple, you will be provided with a prompt and will have to come up with a piece of creative writing based on that prompt. It can be a short story, a poem, a play script... Whatever you feel like writing! When you have completed your piece message it to me, SaraDelaney, with the title 'Writing Competition Entry' before the deadline on November 10th and it will be entered into the judging. Your writing will be judged on it's creative content, not your use of English however we must be able to understand it in order to judge it.  The Prompt Your prompt for this competition is 'Thanksgiving on Meteora'. Your writing must link to this prompt. The Prizes First Place: 250,000ip and your story put into a book which will be available for all users to read! Second Place: 100,000ip Third Place: 50,000ip The Rules 1) Ensure your writing is suitable reading for all members of the site, keep it rated PG 13 or lower. Swear words and offensive language or terms are not acceptable. 2) All work must be your own, original work. All writing will be checked to ensure that is has not been plagiarized. 3) Keep it relevant to the IcePets world e.g. do not use celebrities or well known people from the real world in your work. 4) Please try and keep it between 100 and 600 words, if it is less then 100 words it may be difficult to judge the creative content. 5) The work will not be judged based on the use of English, it will be judged based on how creative the story is. It must link to the prompt. 6) If your work is chosen as the winning entry the editorial team may change it to make it suitable for IcePets. We will discuss all potential changes with the author. 7) Please only enter one piece of writing. After submitting one piece you may not swap it for another later on. The breaking of these rules may result in disqualification, and repeated offenses will result in banning from future competitions.  Have fun, we look forward to reading your entries!
