IST A new name has surfaced on Meteora - the only name on the explored parts of Meteora, in fact. Astro Crichton. This is the new name of the space quest guy, who up until today had no name at all (sadface). Its very impractical to have no name. How are you going to sign a letter or a document when you have no name? How do you know when people are talking to you? This is why Astro Crichton is so thrilled to finally have one, that he has decided to allow each and every one of you to bring him stuff twice as many times than normal for the remains of the day and all day tomorrow!

IST As stated in a news post by Claws a few days ago, 2 avatars were available for a limited time. Lucky users who did not log into icepets during those three days, were still able to obtain the two avatars this weekend. The Mistletoe and Grand Opening avatars are now not available until their respective dates.

IST From the very beginning it was our intention for IcePets, as much as reasonably possible, to be a place of freedom. After reading over some of our rules, we decided to change a couple of the rules in a push for the original intention of freedom. -The sharing of personal information or photos is not recommended, but you do have the freedom to do so if you wish.
-The sale, transfer, or trade of; items, accounts, and virtual currency, is not recommended but is allowed. If you choose to do so, you do so at your own risk! The rules previously disallowing the above have been removed. As with anything, if these changes become problematic they can be reversed or changed to what is best for you all.

IST  � How should we bring purpose and focus to pets? What suggestions to do you have for bringing greater focus on the virtual pets aspects, and greater purpose to the virtual pets? � What outside cause would you donate to? If IcePets were to offer a way to donate to an outside cause, which cause would you want it to be? � Would you support an on-site cause? If IcePets ran an on-site cause, where 100% of IceCash sales went to pet colors for example, would you support that cause?

IST These two avatars are ones that were originally intended to be released a while ago (future annual releases of things like this are now planned and dated from now on, to avoid slipping between the cracks). Mistletoe avatar got a revamp to match the style of the rest of the avatars. This avatar is for annual release around Christmas time. Grand Opening avatar will be available again for the day of October 20th in 2011, and every year after on the same day.   After three days, these avatars will no longer be available until their originally intended dates.

IST Hi all, a few minor glitches have been fixed :- ~ Homepage Latest News image no longer looks like it has another image behind it ~ The rotating image banner on the homepage now links to the correct area of IcePets depending on which it is advertising at the time (refers, arcade or whos online) ~ Stats page is now accurate. Forum Posts and a few other jumbled stats are now showing correctly.  Another addition to the Stats page, is that the statistics are now updated every 5-10 seconds. This means you can see all the statistics change in real-time. We have also added a timer so you can see when online users were last active. Nate

IST If you like to look classy, you should head on over to the Token Booth and get yourself a Steampunk Top Hat and an Ice Cube Necklace. These items will make you look important and famous, everyone will want to get your autograph!   Also, the glitch that was interfering with submitting scores for flash games has been fixed and flash game avatars are once again obtainable. Many thanks to Nate for working his magic. The referral system should now be in full working order. There should be no more problems in referral acceptance. Many apologies for those affected.

IST Hot off the press, Sattainon wrote three book stories. That really sharp paper almost cut it in three! Maybe we shouldn�t have used the Sharpco Papertm brand of novelty paper.. Anyways, moving on. Birthday Book  �Happy Birthday!� is a sentiment expressed in many regions around the globe. From the northern, frigid, regions, to the southern, blisteringly hot, regions. Every day that goes by brings in a new day and someone�s birthday. Each region has unique differences in celebration, however. If you ever decide to travel the globe make sure to do so on your birthday! Crop Circles for Newbs  Crop circles are mysterious and in some cases scary. Most people don�t know where they come from or who, or what, makes them. Some people speculate that they are call-signs from alien life leaving messages for other aliens. No one really knows how they are made but we do have some good ideas from the best and brightest minds.

IST The domain was the reason you couldnt get on IcePets the past few days. Turns out the company we were with for the domain does not offer domain renewal, the reason for them not allowing us to renew. After many exchanged emails, they did allow us to renew the domain. We just need to transfer to a new company now (doing that today), to prevent this happening next year. In case this info interests anyone, we are good on the domain until 2013 and with a much better domain company than before.

IST Everyone give a warm welcome to Lycan, the newest member of IcePets team as Head Writer. If anyone is ever interested in joining her writing team, she is who you should contact.  We need Content Managers on the team, right now Enits is the only one and there is a lot of content to manage! You would have a few areas of the site under your control, to make sure progressive updates consistently roll in to keep those things relevant and constantly improving. IST Hi All, Ive had a few internet problems lately (thats why you havent seen any news from me). Since the downtime, Referrals havent worked correctly, but now *hopefully* - they should work fine! All Referrals within the past 28 days that are pending or have failed have been given a 14 day extention from now (failed referrals have been reset!). These referrals (the time extended ones) will not show as a notification, so please check your referrals page to check if you have any outstanding referrals. Kind Regards Nate
