We would like to extend a thank you to everyone for being so patient during this transition. As mentioned in the previous news post, we'll address some of the changes that we're implementing moving forward. Judda is stepping back from most programming for the site. In addition, IcePets will be changing its business model. This new model is based on three main pillars:
- Monthly financial reports, including income and expenses, will be published to improve transparency and accountability. - Our financial goals and expectations will be shared to ensure that all our Users know where the money (from IceCash purchases, etc) is going. There will be no spoilers for future features, however! - IcePets will rely solely on its own profits to ensure its sustainability. Icepets will continue to put all profits towards future site development. Unfortunately, this means if no profit is made, there will be no development.
The first full report will be provided in December. Our first priority is hiring at least one other programmer to finish up Alpha, which is estimated to cost between $1,500 and $2,000.
All money earned on IcePets always goes back into the site.
Additionally, we plan to open a developer log for programming updates between the live site and alpha. This will be independent of the current change log where smaller changes to the site have been noted. We want to assure everyone that Icepets will run the same, with improvments on the way. We have ample ideas for events, activities, and features we cannot wait to provide to you once Alpha is complete.
Our annual Black Friday Sale is coming up with a few new additions. We have a bigger project planned for the holiday season that we're hoping everyone will enjoy! As a thank you for sticking with us through this rough patch we would like to extend the following:
Seven days of Gold Account time by clicking this link. You have until December 1st 23:59:59 (IcePets Time) to claim.
A mini quest bonus event starting Friday, November 29th until Monday, December 2nd. More details will be released when the quest event starts.

Recently, IcePets had been bought and transferred. Many of you saw the news post and were ready for the site to take a deep breath and push forward! Unfortunately, the life situation changed for Ace and he was unable to continue the project as he hoped. We understand this is a disappointment to all the Users, Staff feel it deeply as well.
After considering many options, @Judda agreed to take the site back from Ace so it wouldn't drift away into obscurity. No dusty black hole for IcePets! Although Judda will maintain ownership of IcePets, he will remain primarily as a consultant and provide some developer work.
Together as members of the community, we will strive to hire a programmer and finish up everything needed to see the alpha site become reality. The site may go down at some point before Tuesday, November 26th due to the transferring of the site ownership again. Regardless of when the site goes down, our goal is to be up and running operationally by November 26th.
Once IcePets is back, we will provide a more detailed explanation of what all these changes mean going forward. Every one of you are appreciated and your continued support means everything. One thing we can guarantee is we will always fight to keep IcePets available as a home away from home.

Now that all the Pets of Terrafrost have gotten some fresh coats of paint, we want to see you try your hand at creating some brand new looks! If you've had some colorful concepts you've been itching to share, now is your chance! In celebration of our Pets receiving an overhaul of their Basic Colours, it's time for a Pet Colouring Contest!
If you head over to the Contests Page, you can find the base lineart for four different pets that you can choose from, ready for you to give it your own unique touch. Take any one of these Pets and show us the IcePets colour that you've always wanted to see!
The contest rules are as follows:
Rule 1 - One entry per user. Rule 2 - Work must be entirely your own. Rule 3 - Entries must remain anonymous before and during voting; you should not show anyone else your entry during the contest. Rule 4 - Art must be PG-13. Rule 5 - The base Pet must be recognisable in the end. You can edit it through your own interpretation, but the image should not have so much added to it or removed that we cannot recognise the original.
The contest will have three winners, who will receive the following prizes:
1st Place - 250,000 IcePoints - Rainbow Snow Jar - A Red, Blue, Green and Yellow Snow Jar - Golden Competitor Stamp - Gold Competitor Trophy
2nd Place - 200,000 IcePoints - A randomly chosen Rainbow Pet Morphing Potion - A Red, Blue, Green and Yellow Snow Jar - Silver Competitor Trophy

If you're seeing this, then you have arrived at the new server for Icepets.com. We have just done a transition of all the site code, features and everything else. There are still a few issues around the site that we are working on, so if you notice anything that's wonky, please make a post in the Site Glitches forum and we'll do our best to get things fixed asap.
I just wanted to introduce myself as Ace, the new owner of Icepets. I've been getting to know the Icepet's team all week and I'm really impressed with everything they've done so far. We've had some good discussions about the direction of where they want the site to go and hopefully I can use my skills to help improve the site.
As a programmer, I'll be working on the current site to make improvements, add events and listening to your suggestions. We are also going to get that recode finished, one way or another, but my main priority is to help bring back activity, keep things alive and interesting.
I'm excited to work with the team and hopefully make some improvements to a site you all enjoy playing.

The rumours are true! The rainy October weather managed to catch some drafts from the peaks of Snowslide Mountains, where Snow Jar Snows are harvested. The magic crystals mixed on the air, melted in the rain, and fell all over Terrafrost. The Colours have been mixed and shaded just enough that all Basic Pet Colours have a new look!
This affects a lot down the line, as you may imagine. Many Items around the site include the Basic Colours, from Plushies to Avatars! Updates to these Items will be rolled out gradually over time, so keep an eye out, and don't worry if you notice some Items mismatching for now.
If you're having trouble viewing the updated artwork try a hard refresh using Ctrl-F5 or Fn-F5 on the Pet Viewing page!
As always, if you wish to view old IcePets artwork you can do so at our archive; it is a wonderful place to see how IcePets has changed over the years!
