Hello! Just making a news post to mention a few of the updates we've implemented around the site. To start off with, we have automated the system to give out Newbie Packages upon completing the first level of the Dragon Statue Challenge!
*Just in case anyone has completed the first level before this update and didn't already get a Newbie Package, you can message a Moderator or Administrator to award you one manually.
Tired of those junk items clogging up your inventory? Want to get rid of all of those Hearts of Love sitting in your storage? Well now you can! We have programmed a Discard Item feature when using an item. This will permanently delete any item you discard.
*Just a note of warning, staff members will not return any items you delete on accident. Please exercise caution when using this feature. (But don't worry, there is a confirmation page!)
Last but not least, Syrus has decided to stop awarding item bonuses in the Scrap Shop.
Instead he will have a set buy and sell ratio that he follows. This way he's sure to make ample profit off of all of his exchanges. Maybe he's starting to get a little greedy?

After getting over 100 name ideas, entries for the Planet Naming Contest are over! In case you missed any information about it, you can find that info here. The Icepets Staff will be reviewing all submitted entries and once we pick our top 5 favorites we will let you all vote on the winner! We will make a news post once we have the poll up for everyone to vote.
Thank you all so much for the suggestions, we can tell that a lot of thought and creativity went into each and every one of them.

Leaves are starting to change color... the air is getting more crisp... people are getting out their jackets and... and... we're getting Ice Pops?! Why not!?
Greg has brought in a new stock of Ice Pops! I don't think Greg knows that it's Autumn now but that's okay. You can find these new items over at Frozen Treats! One of them even appears to be a Gourmet Food, do you think you can get your hands on it?

Good afternoon everyone! (It's actually a little later than afternoon but shhhh.)
We have a few things to announce today. To start off with, we have added some snazzy new golden items to the Big Red Button! There are seven new items total (along with one old item making a reappearance!) and a few of them award some interesting things!
The names of these items, in order, are: Diary of a Grave Digger, The Golden Zabeu, Golden Locket, Solid Gold Ring, Gold Avatar, Cubed Profile Skin, and Gold Profile Skin!
The Shop Size Upgrade item has received a face lift and will also be included in the Big Red Button.
The Big Red Button is a daily feature where Gold Account members get a free prize. To find out more about Gold Accounts, click here!
In case anyone missed it, we're holding a Planet Naming Contest! Entries will be accepted for one week, so you have until the end of the 26th to submit your entries. Once staff members have decided on the Top 5 entries we will let the users vote on which one is your favorite!
Another thing we would like to mention is the Welcoming Committee. The Welcoming Committee has been an extremely dedicated and helpful team of users! We want to thank every former member of the Welcoming Committee for their contribution to the site! However, we have been working on an automated system to release Newbie Packages and have decided to relieve all Welcomers of their duties. You guys have put in an amazing amount of time sending out Newbie Packages and welcoming new members to the site. We hope you still continue to help new users in any way you can.
For now, new users will be directed to Moderators and Administrators for their Newbie Packages. This is not permanent and we will be releasing an automated system in the near future. The Dragon Statue's quest has been changed to now direct users to message a staff member rather than a member of the Welcoming Committee.
Users are still encouraged to create Newbie Packages. You can do so here!
Also, a small note, Icepets will be experiencing a small downtime on September 25th 2014 at 11:00 PM GMT+2 which will last approximately 15 minutes and all work on the server will be done by 11:40 PM. Nothing too big or worrisome but we wanted to let you all know ahead of time!

Have you ever wanted complete and total world domination? (*echo* world domination *echo* world domination *echo* -ation *echo*)
Well today is your lucky day (sort of)! It's been quite a while since our planet has been discovered so we will be holding a Planet Naming Contest for you guys since currently our wonderful world is still nameless!
But before you guys get super excited and carried away, there are some things we need to get down first!
Users will have a total of two entries per person. Only two name ideas per person (if you pick more than two we will choose the first two you send us)
The planet names you submit should only be one word each.
Please title your PM with 'World Naming Contest' so we can easily find your suggestions.
Staff members will decide on the Top 5 name ideas and those 5 will be put into the voting booth, anonymously, to be voted on. However, please keep in mind that submissions may get repeated. In this case, the user who submitted that particular Planet name first will get to keep that entry. Those who may have accidentally repeated the same entry name will be notified and given the opportunity to change their entry.
All users who send in a suggestion will get a prize for participating in the contest! And the Top 5 entries will receive:
First Place: * Three month Gold Account (time to be added to your account), Golden Competitor Stamp, Globe Plushie, Mysterious ICE Box 2013, and an ICE Box item of your choosing!
Second Place: * One month Gold Account (time to be added to your account), Golden Competitor Stamp, Globe Plushie, Mysterious ICE Box 2013!
Third Place: * One month Gold Account (time to be added to your account), Golden Competitor Stamp, Globe Plushie, and an ICE Box item of your choosing!
Fourth Place: Golden Competitor Stamp, Globe Plushie, and one random ICE Box item

G'Day IcePet-ers! It's still quite a ways until Halloween, but the staff has decided to go ahead and release an early treat for you all! (So generous of them, right?!) Alrighty, let's get started, shall we?
First thing is first, let's start with closets. Closets are pretty convenient, right? You can use them to store your clothes and all that stuff. But we do closets a little differently here on IcePets! All we're saying is you might want to try to get your hands on one of these!
Because..... We have included a new space in your closet (... and your HEART!) that you can fill with a BABY ZABEU!
*Weird but amazing trumpet noises in the background*
Special thanks go out to @Tokcando for requesting the squeal-inducing baby Zabby, and to the amazing @Hornbuckle for drawing this beaut! As always, the Baby Zabeu can only be obtained through using a Baby Snow Jar on a Zabeu, which can be bought for the low price of 15,000 iP at the Snow Jar Igloo.

Hey guys! Our wonderful and hard-working @Judda has added some small updates to the site.
The default sort order of pages in messages has now changed, which means that the newest messages are now shown on the last page of the conversation. Additionally, the paging was made to go to the right spot.
As reported by users, the total number of unique beauty items and books read to their pets wasn't shown correctly. This has now been fixed and should show the correct number.
Last but not least, shop search has received an update. On transaction pages from user shops you can now find a button that links you back to the shop search.
We hope you enjoy these little updates and stay tuned for more to come in the future!
