IST With the recent loss of various staff members, we have decided to go on a hiring-spree! We are now hiring for all departments (Artists. Moderators, Programmers and Writers!). IMPORTANT NOTE: As a staff member, you will be representing IcePets onsite and offsite. ONSITE: Each staff member must be pro-icepets at all times while participating on our forums. OFFSITE: This specific rule is for offsite (any website that is not icepets!): If you make users on another website aware that you are a staff member here, and then you post anti-icepets propaganda on that same website, then we will be forced to reconsider your status as a staff member. Artist Requirements Artists are paid in $USD (via Paypal) or IceCash (Or a mix between the two) We need artists who are capable of any of the following: - Pets - Items - Avatars - Misc Graphics - Flash Game Graphics Applicants should only apply who feel confident that they can match our style. Only provide relevant art examples in your application (ie, if you are applying for Avatar artist, only provide examples of Avatars that you have drawn) All Artists report to the Art Manager, and that is Hornbuckle Moderator Requirements If you recently applied for the moderator positions advertised, you dont need to re-apply. We will take into consideration your applications, however it make be beneficial for you to re-submit your application Moderators are paid in IceCash only We need moderators who are fluent with the rules page and able to enforce them. Moderators should know their way around the forums. They need to be able to resolve issues via the forums and via PM, and know when an appropriate time is to step into a difficult situation on the boards. They need to be able to make decisions based on the facts, and not be biased towards friends/family. All Moderators report to the Lead Moderator, and that is Elliesaur. Programmer Requirements Programmers are paid in $USD (via Paypal) We specifically need Flash Games Programmers. We did advertise for programmers a few months ago, however due to more pressing issues we did not get the opportunity to take the applications any further. If you applied back then, please re-apply now. IMPORTANT: Our Send Score function is programmed in ActionScript 2 therefore all games created for us must be in this language. Please provide example ActionScript source code with your application, along with a few links to games you have created. We are happy for OOP or procedural! For games you create, you will be required to hand over the .FLA file to us (Must be compatible with Flash CS5 or earlier). We will only ever release a maximum of 1 Flash Game per month, so this is ideal for someone looking to make a little extra $$ on the side. All programmers will report to Nate. Writer Requirements Writers are paid in IceCash. We need people who can write perfectly, can spot grammatical errors, and can produce creative written works in a short space of time (usually a few days). We currently have no writers so, we are also looking for a Head Writer. The Head Writer will need to be someone who is organised, and can manage a team of writers, and stay in regular contact with them. Examples of previous work would be an advantage. ======================= To apply for any of the above positions, you can either PM me (Nate) with your application, please ensure the subject title is Jobtitle Application (For example, Moderator Application) OR You can email us at [email protected]. IST Chicken Butt! No no...just kidding...its time for some avatars to be released into the wild Icey yonder! Today we have a few usermade avatars as well as some made by our lovely resident avatar artist Clobert! So first, let us see what our fellow Icepets users have made, shall we?  Looks like Nexinhah is calling her Makoats home with this adorable ringing Makoat collar bell avatar! She is the Makoat Queen after all...  Read and her rainbow avatar of delight! Look at those racing stripes and fluffly clouds...looking forward to seeing this on the forums! Okay, now for something completely different! (wink wink to those who get my reference...) Some awesome avatars by Clobert! Let's see what we have here...  SableFawn now has some deviously cute wulfers to howl for her in the forums! Aaahhhwooooo!!!  What a 'Rambunctious' partier this avatar seems to be! Looking quite rowdy and fun there, Amoresita.  Speaking of partiers, Speedie and her party pets are at it again! IST  Elliesaur has stepped up to become our new Lead Moderator! A big round of applause please! Elliesaur has been a moderator on icepets for over 18 months so she certainly knows her way around the forums and the site! If you have any issues on the forums, be sure to get in touch with her! On a side note, while moderator applications were in the process of being managed, with the loss of various staff over the last few months we are going to be hiring for every department. If you previously applied for a moderator position - we still have your application. More info coming soon! On a final note, I have a challenge for players of the Raffle! Firstly, I will give the winner for December 22nd x2 Christmas Snow Jar's! Secondly, if we beat our all time Raffle Record for the highest jackpot ( Week #14 Kyoshi won 6,644,700 IcePoints!), then I will add a Christmas Snow Jar as a reward for the following week.. IST   These two books, Make a Wish and The Abandoned Candy Factory are now stocking on the Quest StoreThe stories inside them were written by the ex-writer Brose.  Christmas Snow JarThe rarity of the elusive Christmas Snow Jar has been lowered to Rare meaning it will stock more frequently in the Snow Jar Igloo! The Christmas Snow Jar has also been added as a reward in Cube Grab and the Big Red Button. This Seasonal Snow Jar will be removed from everywhere on January 1st, 2013, except for the ICE Shop, where it will move to the Limited Section along with the 25 Calendar Keys!A few other small updates; - The homepage now has christmas pets on it to get into the spirit of christmas! - The Dragon Statue now selects members of the Welcoming Commitee to message and friend!

IST  What better way to get into the holiday spirit than a Christmas Pet!? Give a warm welcome to the Christmas Zabeu! This Pet is thanks to the wonderful Kahvi!! Who drew it? You guessed it; Hornbuckle! + =  ! As this Pet is a Zabeu, the only way to achieve it is to already own a Zabeu and use a Christmas Snow Jar on it. There is no Morphing Potion! The Christmas Snow Jar is currently stocking in the Snow Jar Igloo, and also in the I.C.E. Shop for a limited time. Get one while you can! For those of you new to the Zabeu scene, they can be obtained by taking a trip to the Mystic Rock. IST Now that we have our beautiful Contests Page up and running, I think it's time to announce the winners of the past two art contests we've held! A little refresher, ((If you're too lazy to click that nice little hyperlink I made for you up there and check out Contest # 15)) the Contest had started and we received a record number of entries. Thirty-two to be exact. You all voted, and somehow, in an event that could only be planned by a Survivor-style show producer, there was a tie for first place. So we voted again! For the tiebreaker! New Pet ColorSay hello to the amazing Christmas Dabu*  This pet can only be gained by using a Christmas Snow Jar on an already existing Dabu! *Clarification: There will be more christmas pets this eventThe Christmas Dabu was drawn by the fabulous Hornbuckle! #2. New AvatarsThese two new avatars are now avatailable somewhere around icepets! Both require a certain pet color, along with a certain item. Can you figure it out?  Learn to Read was requested by Brad and Brittle Bones was requested by OsteologyThey were both drawn by the talented Clobert! #3. Pet Color ViewerThe pet color viewer has replaced the traditional color-system and makes it very easy for you, the viewer, to flick between pets and colours.     By clicking Switch at the top, you can choose to view by pet, or view by color (you can also click on a pet image!) To access the color page, simply visit the Adopt a Pet page, and click on the Colors option! #4. Contests!We now have a dedicated page setup to manage contests. IST The Calendar Keys have had their names modified. The change is that the hash ( # ) has been removed from their name. This is to allow full compatibility with all our features (such as the usershops search) On a more interesting note, the Christmas Snow Jar is now stocking in the Snow Jar Igloo and in the ICE Shop! On january 1st, this Snow Jar will be removed from the Snow Jar Igloo! In the ICE Shop, it is placed in the Main Stock section and will move to the Limited section on January 1st (along with the 25 Christmas Keys). One other important note: Remember, after this event, these keys will not be easily available ever again (they are christmas 2012 keys), so if you are a hoarder; be sure to stock up on them - while you can

It's available for one month in the I.C.E. Shop for 800 IC 720 IC for Gold Members!and in the Snow Jar Igloo for 10,000 iP if you can bear to wait for it to stock! After the month is up, the Morphing Potion will be 'retired' to the Historian. The Woodland Jakrit and the Woodland Jakrit Morphing Potion were both drawn by the adorable Hornbuckle! IST The ICE Shop has been updated, with around 40 items being moved to the Limited Section. EDIT: All Morphing Potions and Collectables that are being removed from the ICE Shop will be available via the historian! The Key from yesterday has also been added in (for just 100 IC), and (hopefully) going forward each successive key should be added automatically ^_^ Each Key will be added to the Main Pool of ICE Shop stock, and then moved to the Limited Section on January 1st. Remember: After Christmas 2012, the 2012 Calendar Keys keys will be much harder to obtain, so be sure to log in everyday to get you free key (or stock up if you have some IceCash lying around!) ~ Nate

She has taken on the role of Art Manager, and is doing a great job of it! IST  2012 Advent Calendar This item is now infinitely available for purchase in the Book Store for just 3,000 IcePoints!. It will be removed at the end of december to never restock again! How does it work? Simply click the Calendar in your inventory and click Activate. You will be shown a link to the calendar OR you can visit it via the Games Page. Login everyday to get your free key! You will receive it automatically from Santa himself! Each key will only be available for one day, so be sure to login every day! One key corresponds to one door on the calendar, but dont worry - for those who miss a day (or want to open multiple calendars) keys will be in the ICE Shop for a mere 100 IC. We will only add a key to the ICE Shop after the day is over however! The New and Improved Calendar feature will now be a permanently unlocked feature on the Games Page so you dont need to worry about using all your keys before the event is over! A big thank you goes to Hornbuckle ( our Art Manager) for the wonderful artwork you will see each day! Another big thank you goes to Desmond ( our Head Writer)! She wrote all the descriptions for these items, along with authoring the books that are hiding behind some of the doors!
