All of Terrafrost is excited for Halloween. Costumes are prepped and Empty Halloween Treat Bags are ready to be filled. The Haunted House will have a cooldown period of one hour from 12:00 AM to 11:59 PM IcePets Time all day tomorrow, October 31.

The next time you take a bath, perhaps you would like to include the Alebrije Ducky and Catrina Ducky for extra fun! If you're feeling tired after a warm soak and would like some extra cuddles while you nap, the Sleeping Baby Lugra Plushie may be just what you need! The ground is grumbling and groaning from the restless dead. There's increasing activity as Halloween approaches! To try to keep up, Grave Digger rounds have started opening more frequently at every 15 minutes instead of 30. Try to keep up with all those wandering spirits, before they make off with the prizes! The increased intervals will be staying until Grave Digger closes the end of the month.

Some of the shelves of Glacia are humming with dimensional energy. The elusive Spellbound Present seems to have fallen in and out of portals around Glacia, and some of the Shopkeepers are finding a handful appearing on their shelves. It's your opportunity to grab a few stocking in NPC Shops until the end of October. The Snow Jar Igloo and Golden Touch will not be stocking these.
Member of the Month voting for this month is ending soon! Wherever you are in Terrafrost, don't forget to head to the nearest voting booth and cast your vote for Member of the Month (MOTM for short)! Terrafrostians can vote for up to three Users to win 100,000 IcePoints and the Member of the Month Avatar.
Two winners will be chosen each month. One lucky new winner will be honoured with Yet to Win MOTM, for those who have yet to be recognised for their community contribution. Today, October 20th, marks a very special occasion -- IcePets has turned 10 years old!
Thank you to everyone for making the community what it is today - a place to bring people together, foster friendships, and create memories that could last a lifetime. Whether you've been with us for 9 of those 10 years or only recently joined (or returned!), we're thankful to all of you for being part of our growth. It's been an incredible journey this past decade, and our team plans to continue working hard to push IcePets to new heights.

Nights are growing longer, the air is growing colder, and something is growing in the graveyard. There's rumors that haunting moans and strange noises are coming from the cemetery, but no one knows why. A few brave souls are trying to uncover the source! Everyone is allowed to join, so grab your shovel and get ready to start digging, because Grave Digger is now open for the Halloween season!
A few of our brave adventures have found Spellbound Presents hidden underneath Grave Digger tombstones. A present will appear every 30 minutes, so make sure to keep an eye on these prize filled graves! You can dig under one grave every 30 seconds until the elusive Spellbound Present is found. As you dig, you might unearth some magical treasures, so be sure to use them wisely! All magic comes with a price, after all.
If you have used a UHD on your account for any feature, the wait time between digging is reduced to 15 seconds.
In other news, we are pleased to announce that @mochihugs has moved up and taken the role of Head Artist! Hey All,
First and foremost, I want to say thank you for the last 5 years! Your continued support and friendship has meant a lot to me. Unfortunately, I come to you today to inform you that IcePets.Com is now going up for sale.
Although the website is up for sale, the team is continuing to add new Items and run events. The only thing on pause will be any new features and the progress of our alpha website. All I.C.E. purchases will continue to go back into the site as it always has been, but we understand if the site for sale gives you reason to pause in purchasing. Our goal is to continue to give you a fun place to play as well as events to keep you busy. You have given us many great years, and we hope with a new owner IcePets can give you many more as well.
Why is it up for sale?
Since purchasing IcePets.Com in 2014, the amount of time that I am able to devote to IcePets has dropped to the point that it is no longer fair to the most important part of the site. You, the users.
I (and the rest of the team) have put countless hours into IcePets and definitely do not want to see it fail. That is why I'm looking to sell IcePets to find a new owner who has the passion that I once had and drive the layout updates past the finish line.
What Are the Layout Updates?
The original code for IcePets was written back in 2009 back when PHP was a much different language. There was no "composer" to install third-party libraries into your code, or anything. It was also coded with a bunch of back doors by the original developer. Because of this, the goal was to give the whole site a fresh coat of paint. The problem was to do this, we needed to change how the pages were built. They moved from being dynamically created in a PHP script (as a string) and being emitted with "echo", to use a full templating engine (twig) to handle them. In the meanwhile, we also improved some of the functionality (i.e. galleries were made nicer, and quick stock now works with every location instead of just your shop). These changes are all available here: icepets.dev. The majority of this is complete, including the biggest thing which were the items, just a few kinks need to be worked through, and enhancements made.
So although this was branded as layout updates, after going through the first round, I quickly realized that it was going to be bigger than I had anticipated.

Please Note: The API and Job Sites could be merged into one application, this was originally split up so that we could scale up the API infrastructure if needed without running the risk of having scheduled jobs run multiple times. There are tools out there now (i.e. Laravel Vapor) which would automatically handle this for you instead of having it split out this way.
Additional: I recently purchased a 6-month subscription for Laravel Shift (Shift CI Plan) which allows for the automatic dependency upgrade of any number of Laravel applications, as long as they are currently on running Laravel 6.0 or above. As long as I have that subscription active, if you do not have any issues with me having access to the code, I am more than willing to have it set up as one of my projects to automatically receive the upgrades (PRs will be submitted from time to time). Also, if you upgrade the other applications to Laravel 6.0, I can enable it for those repositories too.

The Haunted House has been creaking and moaning. Shutters flap, doors swing on their hinges, and Ralph swore he saw lights on in the attic. It seems with the spooky season, spirits have come from far and wide to liven up the Haunted House. With all the activity, the Haunted House can be entered more often for the time being -- every three hours instead of six. It also seems the spirits have left more strange objects around than usual...
Until the end of the month, you may happen upon some old Halloween event prizes or Halloween Morphing Potions, among other things...
Don't forget, you can always pick up a Rustic Oil Lantern from the I.C.E Shop to guide you through the dark hallways a bit more safely. Rumor has it that the Lantern's brightness has been turned up this year, further increasing your chances of successfully navigating the House's corridors.

The days are shortening, the leaves are turning, and chill breezes fill the afternoons. The month of October is here, and with it, the familiar haunted traditions, like Trick-or-Treating!
In order to trick-or-treat, you must have a Halloween Pet and you must equip them with an Empty Halloween Treat Bag. Where do you get these things? Good question!
1. The NPC Shops, except Golden Touch and the Snow Jar Igloo, will now be stocking Empty Halloween Treat Bags 2. The Beauty King will morph one of your Pets into a Halloween Pet for you.
In order to participate, put food on your doorstep by visiting your profile. When you have a Halloween Pet equipped with an Empty Halloween Treat Bag, you can then visit other Users' profiles to collect food. Happy trick-or-treating, and keep an eye out for more Halloween surprises!
