I'm sure we all dislike the idea of losing net neutrality. But what are your thoughts about it? Are you concerned for certain things in particular?

Finding pros to the end of net neutrality was difficult but I did find a few. It would help the economy and open up more jobs for various companies, since they could have more services with website packages, such as cable companies have with channel packages.

On the other hand, it's just plain unfair! Now using the internet, which had previously been named a human right, will be much more expensive. With all of the opposition it's unusual that it passed.

There is open investigation currently underway because it looks like a great number of votes to end net neutrality came from fake accounts, identities, etc. Not to mention the controversy around specific news and propaganda sites being blocked and censored to guide citizens to think a certain way.

Hopefully we can keep the internet neutral for longer than anticipated! But if not, I know I wont be paying extra to use certain sites. I'm sure IcePets wont be affected. But eBay and youtube sure will be!

Nah dog, it's pure corruption. The entire point of it is more profit for the internet companies. It's predatory, mercenary. There's no good side to it, it's just them trying to win by muscle. But something like net neutrality has a muuuuch harder time slipping by us. Money in politics, for example, is far-off and doesn't directly impact people. Start affecting how we use the internet, and people who normally have no reason to care or fight back are going to be suddenly freaking pissed. As you said, it's SUPER sketch, so I don't think it's going to hold water for long.

Here is the node, you who hate change and fear revolution. Keep these two squatting men apart; make them hate, fear, suspect each other. Here is the anlage of the thing you fear. This is the zygote. For here "I have lost my land" is changed; a cell is split and from its splitting grows the thing you hate—"We lost our land." The danger is here, for two men are not as lonely and perplexed as one. And from this first "we" there grows a still more dangerous thing: "I have a little food" plus "I have none." If from this problem the sum is "We have a little food," the thing is on its way, the movement has direction.

@Gladion @Megrim I agree with you both. Personally I see it as a continuing path to George Orwell's Big Brother.

Whichever stupid CEO thought it would be a good idea to abolish net neutrality should be FIRED IMMEDIATELY I DON'T CARE HOW RICH OR IMPORTANT THEY ARE BECAUSE INTERNET IS INTERNET AND TRYING TO CONTROL IT IS LIKE TRYING TO GET A SPIDER TO WRITE A NOVEL.

@Tem_Shop And a right on opinion it is! I agree - and wish whoever thought of abolishing net neutrality AND all those who voted to do that should be fired and never rehired for anything short of picking lint off fleas.

Without net neutrality, the biggest businesses will have so much control over what information is spread over the Internet (even though that information is perfectly legal and part of healthy capitalism).
