Just to note - and hope I'm posting this in the right category - if you use the @ sign before a user's name when mentioning them in the forums, they'll know someone has talked to them or about them in a post.

Like this:
@goody2shoes
@CoastPony
@Bassinet
@JaniceRuth
and so on.

This may seem obvious, but I have spotted many post without this - somehow I think it's especially important that Newbies know people have greeted them!!

@Lokki Yes, I believe that's how it works. I don't think people get notifications otherwise, even if they created the thread.

@Bassinet So true, my friend. People don't realize they've been responded to otherwise. I know when I first joined I thought no one cared because my post in Introductions went unanswered. Then one day someone used this symbol, I got the ping, visited there, and discovered many had answered.

@Lokki I wish there were a way to "subscribe to"/"follow" threads, so we could receive notifications when one of those threads was posted in. The default option would be subscribe to threads you created, so newbies would know when their introduction threads had new posts. It would make things easier (for me, at least). But I am just dreaming. smile_tongue.gif

@Bassinet there's a "subscribe" button on the top left. I do think auto-subscribing to threads you create is a really good idea.

Here is the node, you who hate change and fear revolution. Keep these two squatting men apart; make them hate, fear, suspect each other. Here is the anlage of the thing you fear. This is the zygote. For here "I have lost my land" is changed; a cell is split and from its splitting grows the thing you hate—"We lost our land." The danger is here, for two men are not as lonely and perplexed as one. And from this first "we" there grows a still more dangerous thing: "I have a little food" plus "I have none." If from this problem the sum is "We have a little food," the thing is on its way, the movement has direction.

@Megrim Maybe it's just me, but I'm not seeing that. Perhaps, you can see a subscribe button because you're on staff?

I think we’re getting something similar down the road. I think I remember seeing a news post about being able to like posts and such, just can’t remember when

@Megrim - That button has been there for a while for staff and sadly doesn't do anything. It was a great idea from the previous owners which never got completed.

@Judda Oh no! That's too bad. Well, at least it's already got one foot in the door?

@Judda Oh right. My brain is not on this morning, apparently. Time to stop talking smile_tongue.gif I'm sure everything will be amazing and beautiful one day in the not-too-distant future.
